Spring Designs with KHI

Is spring flying by for you too? Before the season’s over (which is typically soon for us here in Texas…), we’re here to remind you this is the perfect opportunity to refresh your space! Our team gathered some of our favorite spring cleaning products as we transition into a new season, including closet organization hacks and trending prints. See below for spring cleaning inspiration and lots of stylish solutions!

Storage Solutions:

Although putting away winter clothes isn’t always exciting, there are several ways to elevate from the standard plastic storage bins. Consider using materials like rattan or patterned fabrics for a polished look while still maintaining functionality! Once you’ve tucked your items away, slide the baskets under a bed or place them up high in a closet! Some bins even have labels that make accessibility of your items a breeze. See below to shop some of our favorites!

Organizing your Closet:

If your closet is full of different hangers you’ve collected throughout the years, we’ve totally been there! (Looking at you, dry cleaning hangers…) Don’t underestimate the power of well made, matching hangers! It may seem “too simple”, but creating a cohesive look is key. You’d be surprised how it makes you feel! Check out some of our favorite options below:

For all the shoe lovers, one piece of advice our designers wanted to share is that using a shoe bin not only adds an aesthetically pleasing piece in your closet, but also allows for more room to buy even more shoes…which is always the goal!

Living Room Tips:

Is your living room starting to feel cluttered? Whether you have a big or small family, this room is typically a catch-all area and clutter can pile up quickly. Below are some easy-to-implement ways to enhance your space while incorporating purposeful pieces!

  1. Storage Ottoman: Perfect for placing any extra blankets or pillows to allow for more space when hosting your friends and family!

  2. Remote box: One too many remotes on the table (or in between couch cushions)? This stylish solution will act as both an eye-catching piece and safely store your remotes!

  3. End table bookshelf: A win-win piece that keeps your favorite coffee-table books in reach without cluttering the main table and doubles up as a place to set down drinks!

Insider tips from our designers!

Katie Hilburn, Founder & Principal Designer: One way Katie eases herself into organizing her space (and holding herself accountable!) is by setting a 20 minute timer every day after work! This helps her maintain a routine without overwhelming herself at once and helps with day to day sprucing and sorting!

Sara Moore, Lead Designer: Less is more! Sara tries to keep a minimalist approach when it comes to decor and items in her home. Her philosophy is: the less I have, the fewer items I need to clean and tidy up!

Grace Lopez, Director of Operations: “Being a lover of hosting and creating cozy spaces, incorporating florals all around the house is a big staple for our house when spring rolls around! One of my absolute favorite vases to place them in is from Ikea. My husband and I always get asked where we got it from - I can’t recommend it enough!”

Sara Moore: “Keeping the house smelling fresh is a must! With being outside so much, leaving windows open, etc. I have the Pura Diffuser and I also use odor eliminators in each room of the house and hide them in small planters”.
