Entry tables are the first impressions of the home. It’s the first thing that guests see when they walk in, and it sets the mood for the rest of the house. Often, these entryways are filled with things that homeowners toss around once they walk in the door. Taking the time to organize and have this place accurately reflect you will help you and guests feel more at home.

Now, before you start going on a shopping spree, it’s essential to take a step back, measure the space, and consider how this area will be used. In this guide, we will take you through the process and hope it helps you choose the items that will be perfect for you and your lifestyle!

Picking the right table

In the begging, it is always easiest to start with the larger, more bulky items first. Figure out what your design style is and find a table that matches that aesthetic. Be sure to measure your space! Purchasing a table that is too small or too big can make or break the result. Sometimes in a more significant entry, you can even get away with a beautiful credenza!

TABLE lampS

Adding a lamp will allow for warmth once you walk into your home. Sometimes overhead lighting can be too harsh so having a light adds a nice, warm feel. One essential step to keep in mind is balancing out the pieces. If you place a tall lamp on one side, add a vase with greenery at a similar height on the other side of the table.

Bins and ottomans

Place bins or ottomans under the table if there is open space. Storage bins help to keep shoes, scarves, and other accessories from clogging up the walkway. In smaller homes, this is an ideal place to store ottomans for guests that need additional seating. By adding items below your table, will ground the space and add visual balance.

Mirror or art

Add visual height to the entry by adding a large mirror or your favorite piece of artwork! Large mirrors can reflect light into darker spaces like hallways or even make a smaller room look bigger. Art is a great way to personalize the space and create a focal point to draw the eye in!

Accessories

This part of the styling process is always one of our favorites! What accessories you add can be unique to you, your lifestyle, past travels, or anything that means something important to you. Add a few of your favorite coffee table books, some plants to bring life to the space, and even some of your most treasured photographs of loved ones. Using bowls and trays for catch-all items like keys, wallets, and sunglasses will keep the space tidy and organized.

Rug

Lastly, add a rug to help bring comfort and texture to the space! If the entry is a long hallway, be sure to pick a runner that takes up a majority of the hall to make it look long and inviting. For larger entries, an area rug can be best! And now, your entryway is complete!
